The Methodology section (Humanwissenschaftliche Forschungsmethoden) of the Institute ofPsychology at the University of Potsdam, Germany, consists of two senior staffmembers: PD Dr. phil. Eberhard Schröder and Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Wolfgang Schwarz, whoheads this section. A primary task of the Section is toprovide the suite of regular standard courses in psychological methods and fundamentalstatistics for psychology majors. We also offer more specialized courses,and methodological advice for graduate students.
In addition, the section covers a broad range of research topics. Dr. Schröder'sresearch covers educational measurement, Piagetian developmental studies, schoolevaluation studies such as the large-scale european PISA study and its variousfollow-ups, and more generally a range of topics in the area of epistemologicaland social-science applications of psychology.
Dr. Schwarz's research covers experimental perceptual and cognitive psychology,and the mathematical modeling of elementary psychological processes; forfurther detailed information, please, consult his personal webpage.
