The research interests of the group focus on issues of applied social psychology, in particular in the following areas:
- Aggression: Projects investigating the relationship between media violence and aggression, sexual aggression in adolescence and early adulthood, as well as aggressive driving behavior.
- Social Cognition: Projects studying schematic decision-making in a legal context, schematic representations of sexual interactions ("sexual scripts"), and gender role orientation.
- Health Psychology: Projects devoted to the development of theory-based approaches to health promotion, including content analysis and experimental evaluation of health promotion leaflets.
International research collaborations with colleagues at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, the Warsaw School of Social Psychology, the University of Paris Ouest Nanterre La Défense, the University of Granada, Macquarie University, Sydney, and the Free University of Amsterdam.
